File Federal Employee Program (FEP) Dental Claims Electronically

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina administers the Federal Employee Program (FEP) for eligible federal employees and retirees. In our continuous effort to increase provider satisfaction, we have enhanced the manner in which FEP dental providers submit claims and receive payments. Effective June 19, 2020, dental providers can submit claims electronically (837) via clearinghouse with payer ID 402. This enhancement speeds up claims processing and allows you to view the status of electronically submitted claims in My Insurance ManagerSM (MIM), the BlueCross secure online portal. You will also receive electronic remittance advices.

What This Means To You

You may continue to submit hardcopy dental claims, however, effective June 19, the preferred method to submit is electronically. Claims filed electronically with payer ID 402 will process expeditiously and claims status can be viewed via MIM. You will receive an electronic remittance advice and a hardcopy check for payment.
